A few habits help a small website stay useful as it grows.
Give each page a job
Start with the question your visitor needs answered. Put the answer near the top, then add the detail that supports it. Use descriptive headings so readers can find their way through a longer page.
Keep navigation short. A home page and an about page may be enough at first; add documentation when there is something specific to explain.
Write links that make sense
A link should say where it goes. Use “Publishing notes” instead of “click here”, and check the destination after moving or renaming a file.
Try your site on a narrow screen. Text should remain readable, links should be easy to select and nothing should force the page sideways.
Keep a copy, then check the change
- Save a copy of the current files before publishing an update.
- Open each changed page and follow its links, including the home link.
- Visit an address that does not exist to check the missing-page response.
- Review older content occasionally and remove advice that no longer applies.

The hosting server may process ordinary connection information when it delivers a page. This site does not provide an account or store visitor preferences in your browser.
